Core Pillars of Our Curriculum
At BCFK, our Bachelor’s degree is built on four rigorous academic pillars that demand deep engagement with primary sources and classical texts. This intentionally heavy course load — featuring thousands of pages of reading, extensive writing, and thoughtful quizzes — cultivates disciplined minds, spiritual depth, and the ability to think critically about faith in a complex world.
Theology
Eight intensive courses immerse students in the profound depths of Christian doctrine, from the Trinity and soteriology to eschatology. Engaging directly with Scripture and historic confessions builds a rock-solid theological foundation essential for faithful ministry and personal devotion.
Church Fathers
Eight courses explore the writings of the early Church Fathers — Ignatius, Augustine, Athanasius, and more. This deep dive into patristic thought connects students to the historic faith, sharpening interpretive skills and guarding against modern errors.
Philosophy
Six courses in philosophy — engaging Plato, Aristotle, Aquinas, and modern thinkers — train students to integrate faith with rigorous intellectual inquiry. This equips graduates to defend the gospel thoughtfully in an increasingly skeptical culture.
Church History
Six courses trace the unfolding story of the Church from the apostles through the Reformation to today. Understanding triumphs, trials, and key figures provides wisdom for navigating contemporary challenges while remaining rooted in tradition.
